CU Biomed takes on Winterlude!

CU Biomed takes on Winterlude!

HEY Biomeds!

First off thanks to all of you who came out to the LaserQuest Event! It was a blast, and hopefully next time we can strategize a little better so that Cobra doesn't come out on top. (For those of you who did not attend, Cobra was an 11 year old boy that was ridiculously good at LaserQuest)!

Now it's time for our 2nd Winter Event: CU Biomed takes on Winterlude!

CU Biomed 2nd Annual Halloween Party and Lab Coat Dyeing

CU Biomed 2nd Annual Halloween Party and Lab Coat Dyeing

After last year's Halloween Party featured guest appearances from Dexter, UFC fighter - BJ Penn, some 'Cereal' Killers, Crayons, Ninja Turtles, an M&M and even Mr. Monopoly himself we VP-Socials decided that it simply had to become an annual event!

This year's event will have an added bonus -- everyone who attends and brings a lab coat, will get it dyed from it's old boring white to...gentian violet, AKA purple! There will also be food and refreshments for everyone wearing a costume.

Biomed Competition

Biomed GolfBiomed Golf

Golf a la Biomed...

Welcome to the annual Biomed Competition. This competition will be the ultimate test of character. You will need to prove your electrical and mechanical skills while battling for survival against the other teams...Well not really, you will be golfing.

Biomed Poker Night Recap

Poker NightPoker Night!

A big Thanks goes out to everyone that showed up to the Biomed poker night last Friday. This was our final event for the Fall semester and it proved yet again to be one of our most popular events. Next year we will be definitely be booking a larger room to better accomodate everyone!

Competition Part 2: Electromyography

ElectromyographMuscles have electricity!

This is a continuation of Part 1 of the robotic arm competition. The first part was just a basic introduction into what the competition was all about. This part will talk about the electromyograph (EMG) sensor.

First off, what is EMG? An EMG is very similar to an electrocardiograph (ECG). An ECG is a print out of the electrical activity of your heart. The muscle contractions of your heart are controlled by the electrical impulses generated by the sinoatrial node (which is in your heart). These electrical impulses can be measured similar to any other electricity.

Biomed Halloween Costume Party!

CUBES Halloween Party! The real Iron Man!

Hey Everyone!

First off, a big thank you to all that attended the year's first Biomed BBQ. It was a good turnout, and for the first years that showed up and gave their lab-coats, you can proudly say that you have the society's best coats to date. Never before has the dye turned out so well! That was a joke...the lab coats are going to be up for RE-Dye at our upcoming Halloween event!! bring your labcoat if it didnt turn out well and we can re-do them.
